  1. Appliance Store Shares Grill Guide

    Appliance Store Shares Grill Guide

At Reno’s Appliance, we offer numerous outdoor appliances to create a backyard oasis for our customers. One of our specialties is grills. There are so many different options to choose from, so we wanted to provide a grill guide to help you find the right one for your needs.

Before reading the rest of the article, ask yourself the following questions:

    • How often do you use your grill?
    • Do you grill on the weeknights, weekends, or both?
    • How much money do you have to spend?
    • Who do you cook for? Is it just you and your significant other? Or are you frequently hosting large dinners?

    Gas Grills

Gas grills are one option that you can choose from. The big benefit to them is they are quick to heat up and cool down. It also allows for an easy clean up, perfect for weeknight grilled meals. Gas grills work best for cooking vegetables, fish, and poultry. The one downside is you are not able to get as good of a sear on steak with gas. However, if you want to splurge on a higher-end grill, they typically come with infrared sear burners.

    Charcoal Grills

Gas grills get hot, but nowhere near as hot as charcoal grills do. Charcoal grills are perfect for cooking steak and smoked meats. They are less expensive than gas grills, however, they do take longer to start up. Charcoal grills are not as ideal for weeknight meals and they create more smoke than gas grills.

    Electric Grills

Electric grills are the safest and most economical grill on the list. They are perfect for indoor usage and small spaces as they do not emit large amounts of carbon monoxide. Although the upfront cost of an electric grill is greater than a charcoal one, they do not require the added cost of propane or coal. The cons of using an electric grill are it generally has a smaller cooking area and it does not provide the same barbeque taste as a gas and charcoal grill does.

  2. Family Owned Appliance Store Shares Family Dinner Planning Tips

Family Owned Appliance Store Shares Family Dinner Planning Tips

As a family owned appliance store, we understand the importance of sitting down as a family for dinner. However, with busy schedules, after-school events, and smartphone distractions, it can be difficult actually sitting around the table together. The benefits of family dinners are tremendous. Children do better in school and are physically and emotionally healthier. We thought it would be helpful to share some family dinner planning tips.

    • Make a plan. How many times do you think about what you are going to make for dinner that same night? Most people would say they do that far too often. Not only does that make your evening routine a bit more hectic, what with stopping at the grocery store to pick up any ingredients, but you have a higher chance of eating junk food by doing that. We recommend planning ahead during the weekend. Do one big grocery shop with all the ingredients that you will need and maybe even cook ahead for days you know you will be swamped.
    • Do something special. If you are just getting into the routine of eating dinners together as a family, consider doing something special. Light a candle and get some fresh flowers for the table. Maybe break out the nice dinnerware and a new tablecloth to set the mood.
    • Stay away from electronics. Family dinner night should be made a priority, which means that all electronics need to stay away from the table. The TV should be kept off and the focus should be turned towards dinner conversations.
    • Keep conversations positive. Family dinners are meant to be a positive experience, so stay away from negative conversations. Do not talk or complain about the food or touchy subjects. You do not want your family to dread family dinners, instead they should be an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
    • Stop snacking before dinner. If you want your family to have an appetite for dinner, it is important to stop snacking way before you sit down to eat dinner. If your children are hungry before a meal, they are more likely to try new things.
    • It is okay if you cannot sit down every night. Do not force family dinners. Sometimes they are just not feasible. Treasure the dinners you get to have together and plan for future dinners.

  3. Outdoor Grill Tips from an Outdoor Appliances Store

Outdoor Grill Tips from an Outdoor Appliances Store

Now that spring is officially here, we are ecstatic to start grilling and entertaining outside. We have seen it all when it comes to outdoor grills, so we decided to provide you with some tips to creating a luxurious dining experience in the warmer months.

    • Set up a high-top near the grill. When you are entertaining, the last thing you will want to be is too far away from your guests. Encourage your diners to sit near you while you are grilling up some tasty food by adding a high-top table and bar stools near the grill.
    • Incorporate stainless steel. Stainless steel does not only have to be in the kitchen. Bring this surface space outdoors for a modern, sleek look and prep space.
    • Add a prep space. If you have the space and capability to add a prep space equipped with an outdoor sink and work table, do so. Having that dedicated space will make it easier than ever to prepare delicious meals.
    • Provide some shade with umbrellas. During the summer months, the sun can make it difficult to see your dinner guests. Utilize a large umbrella to cover the prep area before cooking and shade your guests from the sun.
    • Protect yourself from the rain. Summer weather can be a bit unpredictable, one minute it is sunny and another it is down pouring. Do not let the weather impact your dinner plans. Adding a roof near your grill area will protect you from any storm.
    • Include a mini-fridge. If you are always at your grill in the spring and summer, consider including a mini-fridge to your grill area. This will make it easy to store your must-have grill essentials and keep food out of the sun.
    • Lighting. The right lighting can set the tone for your evening party. Adding landscape lighting around your backyard will really make your space feel like an oasis. Do not forget about proper lighting near the grill, you will want to see what you are preparing.

  4. Family Owned Appliance Store Shares Spring Cleaning Tips

Family Owned Appliance Store Shares Spring Cleaning Tips

After a long winter, we are excited to look ahead into spring. Undergoing a deep spring cleaning can be very helpful to making your home ready for the new season. As a family owned appliance store, we want to provide some of our favorite spring cleaning tips to our loyal customers.

    • Brighten up your light fixtures. Light fixtures and lamps can get dusty pretty quickly. As part of your spring cleaning efforts, do not forget to clean them.
    • Doors and handles. With people coming in and out of the house and rooms in it, doors and handles can get dirty and filled with germs. During your cleaning routine, wipe knobs and handles with your favorite cleaning product. Focus a little bit more of your efforts on the front door by cleaning it in its entirety with soapy water.
    • Windows. When cleaning your home, windows are important to focus on. During your typical cleaning session, you might focus solely on the baseboards. Give the tops of the window frames some TLC to clean away any dust and dirt that has accumulated.
    • Shelves. Do you have multiple shelves filled with nick knacks and books you have accumulated through the years? Take some time to sort through the shelves and clean and dust everything. You might want to declutter as well and get rid of things that you no longer like.
    • Rugs. Whenever you normally clean, you most likely vacuum on top of area rugs, however, have you thought about what lies beneath the surface? Remove any area rugs in your house and clean the floors, you will not regret it.
    • Oven and ranges. Simply using baking soda and water and applying it to your oven will easily take away the grime that is left over from cooking delicious meals. Don’t forget about the range hood. You can clean this by using soapy water.
    • Small, kitchen appliances. Focusing your efforts on the interior and exterior of kitchen appliances will really make your kitchen shine.
    • Storage containers. If you store food in storage containers, examine the condition of each. Has some food expired? Clean out the containers and replace with fresh product.
    • Laundry room. Be sure to wipe your washer and dryer frequently and vacuum in the laundry room area.

We hope that these spring cleaning tips help you refresh your home and prepare it for warmer weather.

  5. Home Appliance Store Provides Laundry Room Ideas

Home Appliance Store Provides Laundry Room Ideas

As a home appliance store, we understand the importance of a good laundry room. After all, a lot of time is spent cleaning dirty clothes, especially if you have a large family. We thought we would provide some of our tips to making your laundry room as comfortable and functional as possible.

    • Refrigerator. Many people opt to have a second refrigerator to store extra food. Instead of storing it in your garage, why not create a space for it in your laundry room? It will be more convenient than storing it in a cold garage.
    • Sewing corner & ironing board. Taking out and setting up a sewing machine can be more time consuming than actually stitching something up. Incorporating a sewing corner in your laundry room can help you quickly and efficiently get your work done. In addition, you should consider adding a built-in ironing board to save on space and have all of your clothing essentials in one space.
    • Dog bath. This idea is super helpful if you are a dog owner whose laundry room has a door to outside or the garage. Adding a dog bath to your laundry room will make cleaning up your pup before he or she enters your house a lot easier.
    • Place your washer & dryer on a pedestal. Literally place your washer and dryer on a pedestal to make it easier to transfer clothes into and out of the machines. It is helpful to place them on a platform at least 15 inches off the ground.
    • Space to air-dry your clothes. Not every article of clothing you own can go into the dryer. If you have ample space in your laundry room, consider carving out space to air-dry your clothes.
    • Floor drain. To prepare for the event of a leaky washer, add a floor drain to your laundry room. It will make clean up easier and help prevent damage in case of an overflowing machine.
    • Hampers. If your family stores dirty clothes in the laundry room, consider adding hampers to the space. If you are in the middle of a home renovation, built-in hampers are an excellent way to decrease the clutter in your laundry room.
